We have been looking for hidden sugars in your diet. Did anyone say fruit juice? As healthy as a glass of freshly juiced oranges, fruit juice is extremely high in highly damaging fructose (another carbohydrate form of sugar). A typical 8 ounce glass has a whooping 26 grams of carbs. That is exactly the same as an 8 ounce glass of coca cola! Grapefruit juice (the lowest) has still 23 grams of carbs, and the highest is cranberry juice at 31 grams of carbs! More than soda! What to do? Well I certainly avoid fruit juice, and if I do consume it, I limit it to 4 ounces. Vegetable juice is not nearly so toxic, and I do recommend vegetable juices, or a juice mix with mostly vegetables, but adding a touch of fruit in it.
