Did anyone out there say oatmeal? Oatmeal has been the darling of the medical profession, the food industry, and the public because of its miniscule effect on lowering cholesterol. As I said in blog one, sugar and inflammation are the real enemies, not cholesterol, and oatmeal is full of it. Depending on the type you choose, it will contain about 30 grams of carbs per serving. That is a whole daily allotment of carbs. Quinoa, which has also become popular because of some off its nutrients, has 38 grams of carbs per serving. The paleo diet which I recommend, says no grains, and clearly there are no exceptions!
