Hidden sugars are everywhere
Fruit juice is a hidden source of sugar? A glass of freshly juiced oranges sounds healthy, tasty and enticing, but fruit juice is extremely high in highly damaging fructose (another carbohydrate form of sugar). A typical 8 ounce glass has a whooping 26 grams of carbs! That is exactly the same as an 8 ounce glass of coca cola! Grapefruit juice (the lowest) has still 23 grams of carbs, and the highest is cranberry juice at 31 grams of carbs! More than soda! What to do? Well I certainly avoid fruit juice, and if I do consume it, I limit it to 4 ounces. Vegetable juice is not nearly so toxic from a carbohydrate standpoint. I do recommend vegetable juices, or a juice mix with mostly vegetables, You can also flavor your water by adding a splash of juice to it.
